5/13/17 Things are starting to turn around on the Corps Lakes. Tioga reopened and a number of anglers are fishing there for crappies. Anglers are starting to see a few spawners, but most fish are still offshore staging. We have a week of very warm weather coming. This is it! This is the break we've needed. Warm weather will push these fish in shore in a few days! If you want to catch crappies, this will be the time to do it. Assuming this forecast stays somewhat accurate, fishing should be heating up starting Tuesday/Wednesday. Like the last few years, we are probably setting up for a very short window of the spawn. If the weather cooperates, I'd say we're looking at a 10 day window for the peak of the bite. As always, they'll be catchable from shore in decent numbers through early June, but the peak of this bite will likely only last for a short time.
Good luck out there!
