Fishing continues to be good in Tioga County.  With some luck, we should be fishing for at least another couple weeks.

Hills Creek is fishing very well.  Bluegills and Crappies are being caught in good numbers on the stumps end in 5-8 feet of water.  Chartruese, Green, Black, Silver, and Gold continue to be hot colors.  Waxworms have been most popular, but crappies are being caught on fatheads as well.  Green and black plastics have been very effective, especially for crappies.  Bass and pickerel are being caught on both shiners and fatheads on tip ups, in similar areas.  A few perch are being picked up in the stumps and some down in the deeper water towards the dam

Beechwood Lake is in pretty good shape for the weekend, but edges are still a little sloppy in some spots.  Folks at the CV Anglers club reported 7-9 inches of ice today and the tournament scheduled for Saturday is a GO.  Scroll down a few posts here for more info on that tournament.  Anglers have been catching perch and trout mostly, but a few crappies and bluegills are in the mix too.  Bass and pickerel are being caught on tip ups using minnows.  Tackle Shack will be open at 5AM this Saturday for the tournament.  Normal hours otherwise.

Hamilton Lake has refrozen and the edges are in better shape.  We have not been over to check conditions.  We will update tomorrow sometime for this lake.  A few people have been fishing on the dam end.

Update 2/15- A few people were fishing Hamilton these last few days.  The edges are not in great shape with some of the snow melting off again.  With some cold weather this weekend, it should be in better shape soon.  We will keep an eye on it.

We had reports from Lyman Run today as well.  The upper end where the creek comes in, is open, but the lower end of the lake is fishable.  Anglers are catching trout and some bluegills too.  We do not have an update on ice thickness.

As always, be careful out there and ALWAYS check conditions yourself before venturing onto any of the lakes.  Reports are for reference only and you will find spots of thinner ice.  With the warm weather last week, its especially important to stay away from areas of inflowing water as these are likely areas with thinner or inferior ice.

Good luck this weekend.  Stop into Tackle Shack for all your live bait and ice fishing needs!
