3/31/19 Mixed weather has kept ice chunks on some of the lakes for the past few weeks, but we are finally ice free for the most part. Water temps are still very cold/ Trout fishing has been good on Hamilton and Beechwood. Silver spoons, and a variety of spinners and flies have been working.
The Tioga and Cowanesque spillways are also fishing well for perch and walleye. Live minnows, bucktail jigs, and small swimbaits are all working. White, Chartruese, and minnow colors have been best.
Next Saturday, April 6th is 'Mentored Youth Trout Day'. Take a kid fishing this year and enjoy a little preseason trout fun! This is a great program and a great time for the kids.
