This year has been a crazy one and through the past few months we've dealt with little rain and extremely low water levels. This is especially true on Pine Creek and the other creeks, but the lakes are very low too. We need rain badly.
Bass fishing in Pine, Crooked Creek, Tioga River, and Cowanesque River has been good, particularly in the mornings and evenings. Evening topwater bites have been good with poppers, jitterbugs, and whopper ploppers catching fish.
Some nice catfish are being caught in Hammond Lake and in the tioga spillway. Chicken livers, cut baits, and prepared dough baits are all working.
