4/29/22 Trout fishing excellent. Streams restocked. Crappies still deep. Tioga County and Pine Creek Fishing Report | Wellsboro Tackle Shack

Call Us

A week of snow snowers and overall cold weather has kept the crappies off shore.  Lake temps are holding in the low to mid 50's.  It will likely be the 2nd and 3rd week of May before the crappie bite nears its peak this year.  Some are being caught, mostly off shore, or near deeper standing timber.

Trout fishing continues to be good across the region.  Stony Fork creek and Hamilton Lake will be stocked again today. Lyman Run Lake and creek were both stocked this week. Parts of Pine Creek have been stocked again this past week too.  Beechwood Lake will be stocked again on 5/5.  There are still plenty of trout to catch in all of the other water ways too.  Hendricksons, caddis, and a few lingering stoneflies have been hatching.  Wax worms, meal worms, red worms, and live minnows are all working well.  Salmon eggs have been good in the smaller streams in particular.  Garlic and Shrimp Pink continue to be our most popular sellers.

Good luck fishing!
