Cooler weather around Beechwood seems to be helping it hold on to better conditions. Here in the Wellsboro area, temps have taken their toll on the lakes. A few people were on Hills Creek today. these reports are for your reference only. Always check conditions yourself if you plan to ice fish. Likely, this will be last weekend of ice fishing unless the weather significantly changes over the coming weeks. Beechwood- As noted in our post this morning (scroll down to that post if you haven't seen it yet), we marked 5-6.5" of ice here with solid edges. The slush and layer of soft ice on top was gone this morning. A few people were fishing along the road side shoreline. We took measurements from the launch heading towards the middle of the lake. The tournament for tomorrow is still a go. Follow CV Anglers Club on Fcebook for updates.

Hills Creek State Park- A few people were fishing. The swampy areas that were open before have reopened along the east side of the lake. The edge was broken on the stumps end, but we were able to get on on the lake to the right of the ramp. It is a mix of white ice and bubbled clear ice throughout this end. We marked about 3.75-5.25". At the launch, the edge is solid, but ice is considerably thinner. Here, we marked just over 3.75" close to the launch, thinning to just over 3" farther out. Conditions were not good enough to check much here.

 

Nessmuk-The edge at the launch has softened up and edges have thawed in many areas. We got on the lake here, but unfortunately found a mix of soft bubbled and white ice measuring 3.5-4" near the launch. This was not good enough to venture any farther to check.

 

Hamilton- We did not attempt to access the ice. The edges were thawing on the dam end.
