11/2 It's been a tough week across the county. Heavy rains have kept the Corps lakes off color/muddy. Cowanesque is very dirty with lots of floating debris. We fished there yesterday and some areas near the dam were tough to fish without hooking sticks. Water temps were roughly 48-51. Clarity improved the farther east you went on the lake, but at best visibility was about 3 feet. Most areas it was a much less than that.
Similar water temps were reported on the other lakes. Hamilton and Hills Creek are fishing well. Bass and pickerel were being caught in both lakes on jigs, jerkbaits, and crankbaits. Trout fishing has been very good on Hamilton too. Mealworms, butterworms, and various spinners were working.
Not much else to reports this week. Good luck if you get out there! Remember to tag us on social media- #fishtiogacounty #tackleshack
