8/8/16 We fished Hamilton last night and the fish were hungry! The topwater bite is on! Water levels are way to bad to get a boat on at the launch, but the shoreline is accessible all the way around the lake. We watched one fish the entire perimeter with a topwater bait (I believe a jitterbug).
Our friends own the house on the lake, so we were able to launch on private property, otherwise, I too would have been shore fishing again. All of the fish were tight to the banks though. We picked up a few nice ones right off the dam, including one that went 5+ lbs. The Rapala Skitter V was the hot bait! I watched the below fish come screaming out of the water to smoke that bait off the surface. We picked fish up by the tower and also by the shallow weeds towards the docks. Panfish were very active all over the lake right before dark. I assume a few fish we saw jumping were trout too.
