Bring your used fishing line to Tackle Shack and recycle it here! We are part of the Berkley Conservation Institute line recycling program. We collect the line and mail it back to Berkley, where it is melted down and turned into fish habitat, park benches, and other useful items! For more information on this program check out the Berkley Conservation Institute.
In 2014 Tackle Shack teamed with Tioga County Bass Anglers to install Fishing Line Recycling units at our local lakes. This project started at Hammond, Cowanesque, and Tioga Lakes. Today we have expanded to bring these units to Hamilton, Hills Creek, and Lyman Run as well.
Together, we have collected and recycled tens of thousands of yards of monofilament fishing line. We appreciate your help in this effort to keep our waterways clean.
If your organization or group is interested in installing fishing line recycling units or if your store is interested in becoming a fishing line recycling center, please stop in or call for more information! We hope to continue to expand this program.
